The Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers (CIBD), the most widely recognised provider of technical education in the brewing industry, has launched a brand new self-assessed and on demand technical course – Environmental Management for Beverage Production Professionals.

The Environmental Management for Beverage Production Professionals course is the latest in a hugely popular series of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) short courses. This course has been developed with input from a range of industry experts and contains the most up-to-date information available on environmental management in beverage production.

The Environmental Management for Beverage Production Professionals course provides the same technical excellence found in all CIBD qualifications, without needing to sit a formal exam.

The course includes a downloadable PDF with technical information such as:

  • A detailed summary of the course content

  • The tools to help calculate and maintain a carbon footprint for your products

  • An overview of the steps required to implement an environmental management system

  • Detailed technical data relating to the beverage production and the environment

The course features engaging text, countless videos, animations, quizzes, and games to help enhance learning. At the end of the course, learners receive a Certificate of Completion.

On this announcement, Stuart Howe, Technical Development Manager, explains:

“Energy and the raw materials for brewing, distilling and packaging are becoming increasingly expensive. Water of the quality required for beverage production is becoming more and more scarce. Many customers expect beverages to be produced as sustainably as possible. It has never been so important for brewers, distillers and packaging professionals to manage the environmental impacts of production operations effectively. The Environmental Management for Beverage Production Professionals course provides the knowledge and tools to do just that.”
