By the Midland Section

Dress Code: Formal (i.e. suits, ties, dresses), Black Tie optional

The Midland Section of the Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers are pleased to announce that their 2026 annual dinner will take place at the Alea Casino in Nottingham in February 2026.  This is the first time in memory that the Midland Section Dinner has been held in Nottingham and we hope that you will join us for what will be a fantastic event.  The dinner will officially end at 23:00 but please note that dinner attendees will be welcome to stay later in the reception room at the casino, which is open for business 24/7, should you be interested in extending conversations, or of taking advantage of the casinos facilities.

A range of cask ales and packaged beer will be complimentary and there will be a pay bar on the night for the purchase of wines, spirits and soft drinks.

During the pre-dinner reception you will be able to taste and vote for the best of two cask ales brewed by our young members.

Please do bring some cash with you on the night as we will be running a number of initiatives during the evening to raise money for charitable organisations!

How to register

Please express your intention to attend the dinner by getting in touch with the section dinner secretary Mike Sayer, mike.sayer@cibd.org.uk who will confirm your place and provide you with the payment details.  The cost of the dinner has been held at the 2025 price of £85.00 per head.

How to get there

The casino is located in the heart of the vibrant city centre, 2 minutes from the nearest tram stop, and a 15-minute walk from the railway station.  There are a number of multi-storey car parks locally should you be driving to the event.

Hotels

The following hotels offer discounted rates for casino guests: (i) Crowne Plaza by IHG;  (ii) Garner Hotel by IHG; (iii) St. James Hotel should you wish to stay locally overnight.

Student Members

We are offering a limited number of discounted seats (at £35.00 per head) at the dinner for Student Members and young brewers (including Brewing Apprentices and anyone in full time education).  These are to be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  Please contact Mike Sayer if you would like to be considered for a discounted seat.
