Scottish Section: Barley Walk, Maltings tour and AGM

By the Scottish Section

Thursday, 4 June 2026

2:45PM - 6:30PM

Barley Walk & Distillery Tour attendees: Meet at Falcon Gate Exit by Inverness Train Station for coach transfer.

AGM-only attendees: Meet at Glen Ord Distillery, Muir of Ord, IV6 7UJ.

Join us for a multi-site event bringing together a barley field walk, distillery and maltings tour, and the Scottish Section AGM.

From field to production, this event offers a practical look at barley growing conditions and modern malting processes used in brewing and whisky production. Alongside the technical insights, there will be plenty of opportunity to network with peers, exchange ideas, and stay up to date with developments across the industry.

The day concludes with the AGM, giving members the opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the Section.

Download the AGM notice.

Note

Hi-vis, safety footwear and a hard hat are essential for the maltings visit. There is a limited supply of hard hats available on site; those without will be accommodated during the maltings tour in the Singleton Brand Home.

We recommend wearing sturdy footwear and weatherproof clothing, as the field visit will take place on rough, ploughed ground.

Please note that the barley fields cannot be accessed by car.
