APAC Section - South Australia: Hop Harvest Report 2026

By the APAC Section

Tuesday, 16 June 2026

5.30pm - 9.30pm

Adelaide University

Waite Campus – School of Agriculture, Food and Wine Hartley Grove, Urrbrae

Join us for an exciting evening exploring the science of hops, thiols, and flavour chemistry in brewing.

This meeting is proudly sponsored by HPA Hop Products Australia, with Brad Nolen from HPA presenting an exclusive hop crop report from the recent 2026 harvest.

We are also delighted to be hosted by the Waite Campus of Adelaide University, home to world-leading research into thiols and their impact on flavour in both beer and wine. The program is led by Dr. Dimitra Capone, an internationally recognised expert in thiols, wine, and flavour chemistry, alongside PhD researcher Bradley Maddison, whose work focuses on the flavour effects of hop-derived thiols in beer.

This is a fantastic opportunity for brewers to deepen their understanding of hops and flavour chemistry while gaining insight into the advanced analytical capabilities of the Waite Adelaide laboratories.
